Yamaha SY / TG Synthesizer Family

Vintage Synth Rescue Kit: Yamaha SY/TG Series
CD-ROM or Download for Macintosh & Windows PC
Includes: 20000+ Patches / Manuals / Software
for SY22, SY35, SY55, SY77, SY85, SY99, TG33, TG55, TG77, TG500

The Yamaha SY77 and TG77 are monster synths that include 2 different synthesis types — AWM, which is a method of playing back samples from ROM, and 6-operator FM, which is what makes the DX7 tick. What makes these 2 synths so powerful and complex to program is that ROMpler voices can be processed through the FM part, or layered with FM sounds to make them more “deep”.

Additionally, I have included sysex patch transfer software for Macintosh OS9, OSX, and PC as well as some data in sysex format.

All files are available either as a CD-ROM or as a download which is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns a Yamaha TG77 or SY77, both of which are based on the same type of hybrid digital/analog programming and are able to load the same patches. Vintage Synth Rescue Kit: Yamaha DX7 Series
CD-ROM or Download for Macintosh & PC

Includes: 20,000+ Patches / Manuals / Software
for DX7, DX7II, DX1, DX5, DX200, TX7, TX802, TX816, FM7, FM Heaven

The Yamah DX7 series synthesizers radically changed the world of music technology by supplanting analog synthesis with digital synthesis. The DX7 and its brethren were not easy to program, but they had the ability to produce an amazing array of sounds. As many folks have moved on to other, newer keyboards, rackmounts, and virtual synths, now is a great time to get great profesional vintage gear for a lot less money. So where are the cool sounds?

I have compiled over 2000 sysex files containing over 20,000 patches for the DX7 series synthesizers, including the following: DX7, DX7 II, TX7, TX816, TX802, DX1, DX5, DX200 and the virtual synth versions, Native Instruments’ FM7 and FM Heaven. This disc includes several Sysex patch librarians for both Macintosh and Windows PCs to make it easier to organize sounds into useful banks. As an added bonus, I’ve transferred many of the patches into a huge Emagic SoundDiver library, which makes it quite easy for editing and organizing patches, as well as for compiling banks of your favorite sounds to load into your synthesizer.

This collection also features a large amount of documentation which will be helpful to anyone who owns a member of the DX7 family. These documents include: DX7 Operating Manual, Service Manual, Circuit Diagram, Voice Library chart, ROM datasheets, DX7II Product & Operating Manuals, eCard manual, and more. You’ll also find some articles and beginners guides to FM programming in order to help provide some background and understanding regarding this very popular family of instruments. There are also some interesting history documents explaining how important the DX7 was to the world of music. If you use FM synthesis, this disc is worth it’s weight in gold!

All files are available either on a CD-ROM or as a download which is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns an DX7-class synthesizer. Breathe more life into your vintage Yamaha by using this collection!

Roland D-50, D-550, VC1

Vintage Synth Rescue Kit: Roland D-50/D-550
CD or Download for Macintosh & Windows PC

12,000+ Patches * Sysex Editor/Librarians * PDF Manuals * Articles * More

The Roland D-50 & D-550 synthesizers were some of the most popular synths ever made, and one of the last models of pure “synthesizer” before ROMplers became the rage. The distinct sounds produced by Linear Synthesis span a wide range from crisp bells and dreamy pads to chunky basses and otherworldly effects. In fact, this is such a classic synth that Roland recently re-released it as the VC-1 expansion card for the V-Synth and VariOS, and included it in the V-Synth XT. Sysex files on this disc should work with any of these newer models.

I have included 84 banks of data in Sysex format, as well as Sysex editor/librarians for Macintosh OS9, OSX, & PCs. I have also pulled all the sounds into Emagic SoundDiver format, and verified that there are over 12,000 patches. SoundDiver works for both Mac & PC, and is an easy way to organize sounds into banks. I’ve also included a couple of articles on the D-50 as well as the Basic and Advanced manuals in PDF format. As an added bonus, there’s even a manual for the PG-1000 programmer unit. Includes documentation on how to use MIDIQuest to manage patches on your D-50 model as well as a patch names database so you can keep track of sounds that you like the best. Most recently added: D-50 setups in PDF format.

All files are available either on CD-ROM or as a download which is compatible with both Macintosh & Windows PCs. This would make a wonderful addition to anyone who owns a Roland D-50 or D-550, which both load the same patch data. Get more from your vintage Roland by using the files in this collection!
